The site at Easton Hall has been occupied since Saxon times with the remains of a Saxon house being the subject of archeological digs in the 1960's and 1990's. The grounds are a particular feature and have commanding views over the adjacent countryside. The current Easton Hall was constructed in the 15th century with later additions and is an impressive example of a Grade II listed country residence with a documented line of ownership back to 1066, during which time it has been owned by only ten families, three of those individuals are particularly noteworthy. Sir Ralph Warren was twice the Lord Mayor of London, Oliver Cromwell who was uncle to 'The' Oliver Cromwell and Frances Evelyn, Countess of Warwick who was mistress to King Edward VII.
